“Wheelies Rest” is a delightful single-storey family and fully wheelchair-accessible home in Smiths Beach, just a short walk from the beach and Smiths Beach General Store, and a comfortable drive from the supermarkets, restaurants & cafés of Cowes and San Remo. Smiths Beach offers a beautiful sandy beach with easy beach access, ideal for swimming, surfing, beach walks and enjoying the stunning coastal surroundings. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
The spacious open plan Dining/Kitchen/Family Room (with a 33" TV) features large sliding doors opening onto the undercover Patios, creating a lovely indoor/outdoor feel. A central hallway leads to Bedrooms 1, 2, 3 and 4 (each with BIR), along with a Bathroom (with wheelchair-accessible shower and grab rail beside the toilet). Bedrooms 1 and 3 both feature ceiling mounted hoists above the hospital quality beds - perfectly suitable for mobility-impaired guests. A second Bathroom (featuring a shower), a fully equipped Laundry (with washing machine & clothes dryer) plus a separate Toilet, provide great flexibility for larger groups. Accessed from outside via the side Patio is Bedroom 5, along with a third Bathroom (with another wheelchair-accessible shower and toilet), a separate Lounge area (with 26" TV & DVD player) plus an additional Kitchenette (with sink, bar fridge & microwave).
Outdoor Areas
The spacious undercover Patios wraps around the front and side of the home, providing outdoor living space for relaxing in all weather conditions. Large sliding doors connect the Dining/Kitchen/Family Room directly to the Patio, creating a seamless indoor/outdoor flow. A gas BBQ is located on the Patio, ideal for outdoor cooking. The home also features a small rear courtyard, while the surrounding yard provides outdoor space to enjoy. Easy ramp access is available to the home. The large, fully paved front yard provides parking for up to 6 vehicles, with plenty of space for cars and/or a boat.
Kitchen
The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, a microwave, Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc., plus a double sink, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and electric ceramic cooktop.
Heating/Cooling Systems
There are 2 wall-mounted reverse cycle air conditioners in Living Room 1 and Bedroom 5, plus a ceiling fan in Living Room 1. There is also wall-mounted electric heating in Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4.
Bedding Configuration
This home has 11 beds, accommodating up to 13 guests:
Bedroom 1: One set of Single bunk beds and one Single bed
Bedroom 2: Two Single beds
Bedroom 3: One Set of single bunk beds and one Single bed
Bedroom 4: One Queen bed
Bedroom 5: One Tri-bunk
Please note: The Tri-bunk has a Double bed base with a Single bed above it.
Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.
Peak Periods
Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.
Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies
Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
