About the home
“Surf Beach Retreat” is a delightful single-storey family home in Surf Beach just a short walk from the beach and a short drive to the supermarkets, restaurants & cafés of Cowes or Cape Woolamai. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
The front Living Room (with smart TV) provides a lovely space to relax and allows flows through to the front verandah. The Kitchen/Dining Room also features a Coonara wood heater and a central hallway provides access to the rest of the home. Bedroom 1 (with BIR) has an ensuite (with shower & toilet), Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 all have BIR and share access to the main Bathroom (with bath, shower & toilet). There is a fully equipped European laundry (with washing machine & clothes dryer) and at the rear of the home is the Lounge Room (with smart TV, DVD player with a selection of movies and another Coonara wood heater) which also provides access to the rear Alfresco.
Outdoor Areas
The fantastic covered rear Alfresco (with table for 6, additional chairs & a gas BBQ) overlooks the enclosed rear yard (with hot/cold outdoor shower, a firepit and childrens monkey bars) which is perfect for children and pets alike. The Garage is not available for guests, but the single carport and driveway provide enough space for up to four cars (and/or a boat).
Kitchen
The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a sink, fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and cook top.
Heating/Cooling Systems
There are six wall mounted reverse cycle airconditioners; one in each of the Kitchen/Dining Room & Rear Lounge Room, and one in each Bedroom. There are 2 Coonara wood heaters - one in the front Living Room and the other in the rear Lounge Room. Some wood is provided to get your started.
Bedding Configuration
This home has 6 beds, plus 1 sofa bed, accommodating up to 11 guests:
Bedroom 1: One Queen bed
Bedroom 2: One Queen bed
Bedroom 3: One Queen bed and one set of Single bunks
Bedroom 4: One Queen bed
The rear Living Room also has a Double sofa bed, suitable for one adult or child.
Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.
Peak Periods
Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.
Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies
Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
