“Smiths Island Retreat” is a delightful double-storey family home in Smiths Beach just a short drive or comfortable walk from the beach and supermarkets, restaurants & cafés of Cowes and San Remo. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
The downstairs Living Room provides a fantastic second space and provides access to Bedroom 1 & 2 (each with BIR), a Bathroom (with shower & toilet) and a fully equipped Laundry (with washing machine & clothes dryer) which in turn provides internal access into the Garage.
Upstairs is the huge open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Room (with smart TV) which leads out to the 1st floor Balcony. Also on this level is another Bathroom (with shower & toilet), Bedroom 4 (with BIR) and Bedroom 3 with an ensuite (with shower & toilet) plus BIR.
Outdoor Areas
The home features an upstairs fully covered Balcony (with gas BBQ & 8-seater dining table) which is an entertainers delight, as well as a downstairs covered Deck (with seating for 4 people). The double Garage (with table tennis table) has a rear roller door and internal access into the home. There is also a hot/cold water outdoor shower for washing off after the beach.
Parking
There is room to park 2 vehicles in the driveway, in front of the garage, (on the right-hand side of the photo below). There is also the capacity to park 2 vehicles in the garage, upon request, PRIOR to arrival.
Kitchen
The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, toaster, kettle, Nespresso compatible pod coffee machine, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and induction cook top.
Heating/Cooling Systems
There are 6 wall mounted reverse cycle airconditioners; one in each bedroom, one in each Living Room, ceiling fans in all bedrooms plus one in the upstairs Living/Dining Room and one in the upstairs covered Balcony.
Bedding Configuration
This home has 8 beds accommodating up to 10 guests:
Bedroom 1 (Upstairs): One King bed
Bedroom 2 (Upstairs): One King bed
Bedroom 3 (Downstairs): Two King Single beds
Bedroom 4 (Downstairs): Two King Single bunk beds
Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.
Peak Periods
Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.
Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies
Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
