About the home

“Acre's Rest” is a delightful single-storey family home in Ventor, just a 10 min quiet walk to the beach through a nature reserve and a short drive from the supermarkets, restaurants & cafés of Cowes. The amazing rural landscape has abundant wild life, includiung wallabies, geese and purple hens that come right up to the gate. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

A long central hallway provides access to Bedroom 1, which features a 31" smart TV, WIR and an ensuite (with shower & toilet), internal access to the Garage, a fully equipped Laundry (with washing machine; clothes dryer in the Garage) and opening into the large open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Room (with 65" smart TV & a piano). The Dining Room in turn flows out to the fully enclosed Alfresco (with a fuzbol table, wicker couches seating 7+ and a coffee table) which, with bi-fold doors opening on to the rear yard, is a truly indoor-outdoor area. A side Hall leads from the Dining Room to Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 (each with BIR), a Bathroom (with bath & shower) and a separate Toilet.

Outdoor Areas

The stunning swimming pool (12m x 4m; 0.4m - 1.8m deep) with inbuilt electric heated 4-seater spa is the centrepiece of this incredible home, and overlooks the huge grassy lawn area that makes up the fully enclosed rear yard. Adjacent to the Alfresco Area is an outdoor Entertainment Area (with gas BBQ & seating for 8) that overlooks the enclosed pool area (with 6 x Garden chairs, 4 x Sun lounges and 3 x umbrellas). With literally acreage of space for ball games (including a soccer goal and basketball ring), a firepit area (with bench seat) and a hot/cold outdoor shower, this home is perfect for family entertainment. There is a Double Garage (with couches, fridge, clothes dryer, table tennis table and fuzbol table) that opens directly into the home, with space to park one car, and additional space to park at least 4 vehicles (cars and/or boats) in the extensive driveway.

Please note that the home has some outdoor cameras, which do not face any private areas.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, 900mm electric oven and 5-burner gas cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

There is a wall mounted reverse cycle air conditioner in the Kitchen/Dining/Living room, ceiling fans in all four Bedrooms and electric blankets for the 2 x King beds. There is a firepit in the rear yard (wood not provided, but available for purchase from the nearby Anchorage Store or Mitre 10 in Cowes).

Bedding Configuration

This home has 6 beds, accommodating up to 10 guests:

Bedroom 1: One King bed
Bedroom 2: Two Double beds (one of which is a loft bed)
Bedroom 3: One Tri-bunk bed
Bedroom 4: One King Bed

Please note: the top 'loft' Double bed is suitable for 1 adult or 2 children, while the bottom Double bed is suitable for 2 adults or children.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies.
