About the home

“Whytesands Getaway” is a delightful, split-level, family home in Cowes, just a short drive from the beach, and all of the shops, cafe's and restaurants that Cowes has to offer. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

The home is split across three levels. On the Ground Level there is Bedroom 4, a fully equipped Laundry (with washing machine & clothes dryer) providing direct access to the rear yard and a separate toilet. On the First Floor is the Family Room (with pool table & TV) leading to Bedroom 1, which features a TV, WIR and en suite (with double shower & toilet), Bedrooms 2 and 3 (each with BIR), the main bathroom (with bath & shower) and a separate toilet. The Second Floor features the enormous open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Room (with Coonara wood heater, smart TV, 2 speakers, a sound bar & subwoofer) leading out to the 1st floor deck.

Outdoor Areas

The covered 1st floor deck (with gas BBQ, 8-seater table, 4 bar stools, 2 occasional chairs & a 3-seater lounge suite) is a fantastic entertaining area. The side deck (with a 2nd BBQ and 2 chairs) is accessed of the 1st Floor Family Room and provides access to the fully enclosed rear yard. There is parking for 5-6 vehicles (cars and/or a boat) in either of the two driveways.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, a Aldi pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and gas cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

The home contains two reverse-cycle split system units; one in the Family Room and the other in the Living Room, a coonara-style wood heater in the main Living Room (wood not provided), as well as four mobile oil heaters - one in each of the 4 bedrooms.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 8 beds, accommodating up to 11 guests:

Bedroom 1 (Upstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 2 (Upstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 3 (Upstairs): Two King Single beds
Bedroom 4 (Downstairs): One set of Single bunks and One Tri-bunk

Please note: The Tri-bunk has a double bed base with a single bed above it.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies.
