About the home

“The Sunderland Family Retreat” is a delightful single-storey family home in Sunderland Bay just a comfortable walk from the beach and a short drive from the supermarkets, restaurants & cafés of Cowes or Cape Woolamai. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

Entrance to the home is via the front open plan Living/Dining/Kitchen (with 55" smart TV). A central hallway provides access to Bedroom 1 (with BIR), Bedroom 2 which has a wall-mounted TV, BIR and an ensuite (with shower & toilet), the main bathroom (with shower over bath) and the Laundry (with washing machine & a separate toilet). Bedroom 3 is a huge room, with BIR and an ensuite (with shower & toilet) and provides access to the rear Family/Games Room (with TV & DVD player).

Outdoor Areas

The large front carport in the secure enclosed front yard provides parking for at least 3 vehicles (cars and/or a boat) and the enormous side Patio (with gas BBQ, 8-seater table & additional chairs) runs the length of the house and overlooks the enclosed rear yard.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and gas cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

There is a wall mounted reverse cycle airconditioner in the main (front) Living Room and another in the rear Family Room, plus 7 ceiling fans; 2 in the front Living Room, 1 in the rear Family/Games Room, 1 in Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 3, and 2 in Bedroom 3.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 7 beds, plus 1 sofa bed, accommodating up to 12 guests:

Bedroom 1: One Queen bed and one set of Single bunks
Bedroom 2: One Queen bed
Bedroom 3: Two Double beds and one Single bed

The is also a Double sofa bed in the rear Family Room, suitable for 1 adult or child.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies.
