About the home

“Sommerhuset” is a fantastic, double-storey, family & pet friendly home in central Cowes, just minutes walk from the beach, shops, restaurants and cafes of Cowes. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

The front Rumpus Room (with TV) provides a great informal area to spread out. A central hallway leads through Bedroom 4 to the rest of the downstairs rooms; Bedrooms 2 and 3 (each with BIR), the main Bathroom (with bath, shower & toilet), a fully equipped Laundry (with washing machine and clothes dryer), to the huge Kitchen/Dining Room which flows in turn through to the Living Room (with TV and chromecast) and provides access to the rear covered Deck.

Upstairs is Bedroom 1, featuring a WIR and ensuite (with shower & toilet) and the Family Room which provides access to the first floor Balcony.

Outdoor Areas

The huge downstairs covered deck (with gas BBQ, 8-seater table plus bench seat) is also accessible from the fully enclosed rear yard which is perfect for children and pets. The first floor Balcony has its own 3-seater outdoor lounge and overlooks the rear yard. The garage is not accessible to guests, but there is space for up to 3 vehicles (cars and/or a boat) on the concrete in front of the Garage.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, a Aldi pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and induction cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

The home contains one reverse-cycle split system unit in the Living Room that heats the Kitchen/Dining/Living area, ceiling fans in the Rumpus Room, and Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3, plus five mobile oil heaters - one in each of Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4, one in the Rumpus Room and one in the Family Room.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 8 beds, and 2 sofa beds, accommodating up to 14 guests:

Bedroom 1 (Upstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 2 (Downstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 3 (Downstairs): Two Tri-bunks
Bedroom 4 (Downstairs): One set of Single bunks

Note: Bedroom 4 is a converted Study and does not have a door separating it from the hallway.

There is also one Double sofa bed in the Rumpus Room, and one Double sofa bed in the Family Room, suitable for 1 adult or child each.

Please note: A Tri-bunk has a double bed base with a single bed above it.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies.
